Transformational Psychology – PSY 501

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course offers an overview of the entire scope of human transformation. Lecture topics approach the subject from the widest possible perspective. The required readings emphasize personal transformation. Students are encouraged to apply this material to their own lives. Course assignments will ask students to integrate material concerning personal transformation with the larger perspectives presented in the course.

 

 

COURSE SESSIONS AND TOPICS

This course is divided into ten, one-hour sessions. The introductory session, Mythological Approaches to Human Transformation is presented in both audio and video format to better acquaint the student with the instructor.

Session 8 | Organizational Transformation
Session 9 | Western Esotericism and the Mystery Traditions
Session 10 | Applied Parapsychology

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR THIS COURSE

Outcome 1: Students will be able to describe the various worldviews on human
transformation. These worldviews will include the mythological, biological, social,
metaphysical and psychological.

Outcome 2: Students will be able to explain the application of psychotherapeutic
processes to issues of human transformation.

Outcome 3: Students will be able to describe a viewpoint that is capable of integrating
mystical and “esoteric” approaches with mainstream “exoteric” concepts
concerning human transformation.

Outcome 4: Students will be able to recognize and describe the means for practical
application of various approaches to human transformation in their own personal lives.
